OK I seem to be having an issue installing the Megan AWD cat-back on my 98 GSX. I bought it used from a fellow member, but everything looks exactly as it does in every picture from all the vendors and nothing looks altered at all. I've also installed several cat-backs on my previous Evos and other cars with this much trouble so I need some help please.

Below is a stock picture of the exhaust with the hanger circled in red that seems to be causing the trouble. As soon as I hang this in the rubber hanger, it throws the alignment of the midpipe completely out of wack and pushes it way over under the driveshaft. If I leave it out of the hanger, it lines up with the axle-back and with the small section that has the 2 hangers by the rear O2, but I'm afraid it will just not have enough support for the weight and sag or cause an exhaust leak.

What does anyone else do with this? Thanks for the help!!!

Just don't use it.
I don't think you'll have any problems with it sagging or dragging by skipping one hangar.

I dont think you`ll have any problems either with skipping just one hanger....but if you are that worried about it i say just put it on but cut the one hanger off and just have an exhaust shop weld on a new hanger. Im sure all exhaust shops have seen WAY bigger problems then this and you never know, the shop might do it for free? LOL

Well thats the problem with the megan exaust. The exaust is a copy of Apexi N-1 exaust system. the only difference is the hangers dont match up right. thats how you get away with coping someone else product. Laws state they cant be exactly the same so they make some messed up hangers an it looks different.

I have te Megan on my Eclipse too and just skipped the hangar.. No biggy, does not sag or anything..

OK thanks everyone...I thought I was losing my mind and was ready to pitch the thing in the garbage and order a new one because I thought maybe it was for a Talon and maybe it was different. I literally came in and looked on the computer 3 different times!

I'll just skip it.

Thanks!!

ive had mine on for 1 year now and i didnt skip any hangers.

everything lined up perfectly.

your pic is not coming up, which hanger are you talking about?

If its the one attatched to the catback neat the rear, you have to unbolt the OEM hanger attatched to the cars body and rotate it 180* so its on the other side.

hope it helps.

Agreed. That's what I was about to say if it's the hanger you speak of. 2 bolts and than you flip it the other way. Simple solution.
