We should make a sticky, because this may keep coming up now and then and not much info seems to be here, unless im too stupid:rolleyes:
So fellow canadians(didnt put this on that section because it get s little traffic), what did you all do to pass inspection(when you dont want to shell out the $, and do it yourself), and where do you get parts(canadian tire says "we dont have them", and call mitsu, but why the hell would mitsu have them in the first place!!)
Part of my RIV form:
[]INSPECTION CENTRE: Check this box ONLY if metric speedometer labels required.
[]INSPECTION CENTRE: attatch miles odometer label if required.
[]This vehicle requires an infant restraint kit, unless it is a convertible.
[]This vehilce requires daytime running lights.
[]This vehicle requires a French SRS Maintenance label if it is equipped with an airbag that requires periodic maintenance.
[] Air bag equipped vehicles are required to have functioning air bags at the time of inspection

SO i have a feeling I wont get much help as this site is primarily US based. I searched running lights and it helped minimally, this is big problem # 1. If you know what on that list is necessary(other than lights and restraints) help me out please, and where can I get parts, and what are they called, thanks alot,
mike

BTW: I have untill august 10th to finish this:|
EDIT!!: talon owners can you help me, will canadian talons have these parts, how do I do this, what do I need

alright i brought 2 cars from the states , all i did is add a daytime running lights which is only a relay don't do it at Canadian tire because its rip off , and then did the federal inspection at Canadian tire , its a long procedure. after you pass the federal you have to send the papers and wait for the second form
feel free to pm me if you have any questions

PM d^^, that other site wasnt much help, I need to find where to get parts and what I am asking for, then how to put them on the car. I phoned Canadian tire, and he tells me to phone mitsu, I suspect mitsu cant help because they deal with 2000+ over here, and if they say phone the states, well they obvi never had them!!! duh thats why im in this mess. So then I phoned chrysler about talon parts and they tell me they want nothing to do with it(maybe I shouldnt mention the eclipse next time). I still believe everyone gets their parts at Canadian tire, but the man I spoke with was no help:S

Pure government. Airbags work once, if they work, and if the rocket doesn't leak and turn your hand into KFC (which I've seen the result of). There is no way to "test" them for functionality, other than running into something.

Like Bugs Bunny at the munitions factory with his hammer.

HAHAHA Exaclty what I was wondering, very dumb isnt it, maybe just like if its obvious you modified the dash, got a new steering wheel, or tampered with them. But yeah haha really kinda stupid.
Anyways im phoning a guy near me, that was referred to me by omartsi
that sells talon parts, guna see if he can help me out...
Thanks Omar!

if they are unhooked or removed an srs light usually comes on, you do a function test with a scan tool, use a relay to wire up the drl's its easy and will cost five bucks

how do you do it with a relay? im heading out to canadian tire right now so i might pick one up, NS i LL check their kit out too. no time to seach this sec, anyone know where good wiring diagrams are, I dont have a shop manual yet. thanks

nevermind everyone. I am done! did it up today. My DRL S are my foglights, booked an appointment for inspection tomorrow. All we did was tap into a live radio wire(by the big radio fuse) and pulled the fog light fuse, and hooked it up there. Everything works perfect! Gotta love smart dads LOL
