Mississauga,
ok, I just finished putting all the components back onto my engine as i upgraded my turbo to a 16g and now my car wont start. I was working on my car for about a month as it was an on and off sorta thing so i might have forgotten to do something, anyways this is what i did:

fuel pump & rewire - after i did this i started the car and drove it everything was fine
installed new turbo, manifold, mbc, o2 housing, o2 sensor and 560cc injectors.

after i put everything in i tried starting my car and nothing the engine dosnt turn or click. Do you guyz have any idea what the problem could be. I think it might be the injectors i got them used from ebay their from an EVO8 and they looked to be in great shape. The other possibility is that i forgot to plug something back in but I have no idea what it could be.

also i don't know if this is important but i purchased a universal o2 from bosch so i had to wire it to my old connector. i could be crossing a wire or have connected the wrong wires would this prevent the car from starting, i doubt it though

oh i should also mention that prior to all this my car had no problems at all

thanks

After driving it around when doing the fuel pump how long did it sit for the other installs? If you're getting nothing then it's electrical. Can't be injectors because it would at least crank but not turn over. I think its something as simple as the battery or starter.

after the fuel pump it sat for prob a month - 2 months. Im pretty sure the battery is ok because the interior lights come on. You may be right about the starter. I dont get any clicking noise or turning if the engine...
where is the starter? and what should i do exactly.
thanks

I have jump starter but its on half power. I hooked it up to my batter and the engine started turning but there wasnt enough juice in the jump starter so the car didnt start. Im recharging the jumper now and hopefully itll work. I have one question. I was cleaning my engine while it was empty as the turbo and all other components were out and in the process i sprayed some cleaner (not a lot) into the alternator do you think i could have damaged it??

I had a few problems after my rewire but turned out to be that I had no fuel pressure therefore no power to the fuel pump. The culprit for the lack of power in the fuel pump was the inline fuse holders fuse. I had checked the fuse many times and it appeared to look fine but decided to switch it out and sure enough it was a bad fuse. Might not be youre problem just wanted to share a possible solution that I found. God luck:thumb:

spraying brake cleaner or degreaser in the alternator shouldn't hurt it i just wouldn't do it while its running, I've seen many technicians go ape shit on the alternator with brake cleaner. 1-2 months of the battery sitting there could be the problem, just needs to be recharged by the alt.

FYI, the starter is under the intake manifold. Its probably electrical seeing as the motor doesn't crank, just my .02.

I would try jumping the car, or taking the battery out to make sure it's not the battery. Even if the interior lights turn on doesn't mean that you will have enough power to turn the engine over. Do your lights dim when you are trying to turn the car over?

thanks a lot for the replys.

I hooked up the fully charged jump starter to my battery and the car struggled but it eventually started. It started to idle a little above 1000rpms and the car sounded like it was cycling(reving) up and down and was a bit noisy. I reved the car to let the car warm up and the idle went down and the cycling also died down. I then got out and checked for leaks and im not leaking oil or coolant which is good but I did notice that my exhaust manifold was smoking and it got extremely hot after 1 min of the car being on. I also noticed that at idle my car was running rich. Keep in mind the car has not been tuned yet, I wanted start the car to make sure i wasnt leaking anything before I install my sfac and the car was also sitting for almost 2 months.

Is what i am experiencing normal after a turbo upgrade? Im scare that my turbo may not be recieving oil or coolant. Also I hope I wired the o2 right because that could be the cause of running rich, i think. Honelsy, Im afraid i might have ####ed up my car. I have no experience in this, its just something ive always wanted to do.

I did some reading and i think i should mention some things:
-The oil return for the turbo is kinda pinched (what i did was I cut off both ends of my stock oil return and replaced the middle with a hose to get some slack so that hose is pinched but oil can still flow through, Ill fix this soon) Also, one bolt on the return connected to the turbo was loose however no oil was leaking. I hope the turbo is getting oil.
-Im also not using a gasket between the mani and engine. Instead im using some sort of silicone sealent. Maybe thats whats buring? (Im ording a mani from turbochargers so I didnt want to waste my new gasket on the old mani)

keep in mind I only started the car and let it run for a min, thanks

silicone on the exaust is bad. It will burn off an leave a mess go spend 30 bucks an get you a 4ply gasket. If you need a good hookup on one call sam at RRE RRE's Eclipse Turbo Upgrades

As for everything else your doing good just get the bend out of the return line to be safe. But if you start having white smaoke it will be from that line. So dont worry you wouldnt destroy your engine.

ok, sounds good. ill fix the return line and remove that silicone(as it was only temp) but im wondering y my exhaust mani got so hot within a min and why it was smoking and if it is normal to run rich at idle. I think i need to let the car run a little longer as it was sitting for a while.
Again thanks for the responses.

i was just wondering from the mods that I have done so far could any of these cause the exhaust mani to get extra hot so fast and without even driving the car? For example could i have created friction due an oil restriction, or a clog in my coolant lines, could there be an issue with fuel or air flow that i should look into...
I would like to get ideas so i know where to look.
