Im doing a 1g 2g engine swap. I have a 96 GST. I had replaced the factory turbo with a 1g months ago. But I have come across a EVOVIII 16G factory turbo and 02 housing. Should I put the 16G or stick with the 1g.

By 1g turbo, I'm assuming you mena the 14b. The 14b is a good turbo. However, if you have the injectors and fuel mods/tuning abilities to compensate for a 16g, you'd be much happier with that.

Im picking up a aeromotive FPR. I got the walbro 255 and im puting in Precision Turbo Engineering 680cc injectors. Should that be ok?

Oh ya, I picked up the s-afcII also. So with that Im better off with the 16g. Also how is the afc to hook up? I havent done it yet, so dont know if Im in for a project. Im not to hot with wiring.

You should be good the 680's it will take you to 411hp at 80% an 514hp at 100%. The fuel pump can handle it. FPR set it to 43.5 without the vac hooked up to it. You'll love the setup when you get it going.

Either turbos will do you good until you start modding more than the 16g is the way to go. I'm sure the turbo is already part of the motor you swapping so just use that.

No its not on the motor going in. If Im gonna use the 16g from the evoVIII then im gonna try to get the evo manifold also.

After all of my research I ended up going with the 16g evo III, and so far it's held up to it's reputation and after I installed all the supporting mods it is a very considerable gain.

i have a 16G on my talon and have been very pleased with it. not only is the spool much quicker then a .50 trim but it also is a good budget turbo. Im running 20 psi on a 6 bolt with rc 750's and had a chip burnt for it and its very impressive over the 14b.

That sounds good. I just didnt awnna spend big cash on a turbo yet? I wanted to upgrade to support my current mods. But didnt wanna go over the top and get something huge and have too much lag.

did you say you were going to use the turbo off of an evo viii? if so that wont work without some custom work; like manifold, o2, lines, etc.

im not saying it cant be done, im just letting you know before you spend money on something and end up in over your head.

Whoa hey yeah, I just saw that, I'm always used to seeing EvoIII and not EvoVIII. In that case I'd probably just run the 14b for now.

I have everything from the evo viii. Manifold turbo and 02 housing. What you mean the lines? Whats different?
