I just can't find a clear answer on this...

I have: Eclipse 2G, 2G MAF (obviously), big 16g
I'm going to order: $79 ExtremePSI 3" intake pipe, 3" - 2.25" reducer to hook up to the turbo

and now the other side...

will a 4" - 3" reducer fit? Reducers are round, the MAF is oval.. Can I just squeeze the silicone coupler to the MAF make it fit? And more important, will it fit just fine so I won't have any air entering or leaving the intake at this point? And will it stay in place with just putting it over it? Since I can't find any oval clamps either..

I know this sounds really stupid, but I hope somebody can confirm this or tell me how it's done if this ain't right.

Thanks :thumb:

By the way, I'm going for this pipe since their intake kit is sold out, injen/dejon are too expensive and I'm allready doing an oversea order with ExtremePSI so I wan't to put it in the same order because of high shipping costs. So please don't question my choice but lets stick with my little "problem"

:dsm:

The round clamps will conform to whatever convex shape they're put on. Whether the reducer will put up with it is a matter of the specific reducer and how much it'll let you flex it.

Thinking clamps come in oval shapes was the only stupid part.

Ye I have to agree with you here, clamps aren't made of non-bending metal of course.

Now just to find somebody who can confirm if (for example) the ExtremePSI 4"-3" part will be flexible enough to go over my MAF

Anybody tried to do this and able to confirm it?
I can imagine that people who bought the 3" pipe from ExtremePSI also ordered a reducer from there at the same time..

Why do you need a 4'' to 3'' reducer exactly? Is your filter 3''?

EDIT: Sorry, never mind, just looked at it. It's early and I'm dumb. :coy:

I would assume that their reducer would fit, considering they say you need one, I'd just pick up their reducer, 4'', and 3'' clamp and your good to go.

Nah, I got an Injen filter now. But it's not good anymore, plus I wan't to get rid of the red color.
So I'll order a Vibrant filter + adapter together with this so my entire intake (till the turbo) is done.

Thanks for the reply, I'll just order it and see how it goes.

I know this may sound like the cheap way out bu tsince your neeeding an itake pipe whay dont you just get the ebay intake pipe. It comes oval to fit the 2g mas and it under $50 and you can search on here and see that many people have been using them including me. Ive had mine on for about 3 years with no problems. It comes polished but im sure you could paint it if you wanted and i also think they have them in black now

Go an get Dejon Tool Intake pipe way better CIP-2gS is the one u need.DEJON | Powerhouse
Also if you need there 16g lower intercooler pipe LIP-2gB I might have a ford blue one for sale. I'm not too sure about it right now since my car is in the shop an I dont know if they replaced the hole lower one yet. If they did i can see letting it go for the 125 shipped. same price as theres but u pay shipping with them. an even tho the pipe been put on there its never been ran for more than 1 mile. Thats how long it took for my engine to die after i put the new turbo on it.

I have seen the ebay set, it's a bit cheaper indeed. But the thing is, I asked the seller about the sizes and they said it only fits the stock turbo. And as far as I know, the T25 has a smaller intake port than a big16g. Thats why I chose to take a bigger one.
Plus I might want to go with a larger turbo in the future, making me needing a larger intake pipe anyway. But thanks for thinking along with me.

Well I hate to say when you go from a T25 or 16g the turbos need new pipes anyway the 16g an T-25 are up flow turbos. The bigger ones are downflows.

The intake pipe doesnt really matter aslong as it will fit the inlet of your turbo and not b a restriction on it. Aslong as its the same diameter on the inlet and not samller anywere before the inlet.
