Pretty much the title says it all, some people say yes and others tell me no. I cant find it if there is. Please help.

Thanx for the help, I kind of looked around and didnt see anything. i hurt my hand at work last week and have not took my fans off yet. I cant think of anything else causing my problem.

The primary fan (passenger side) is commanded on by the ecu when the coolant temp reaches 210 F & commanded off at 199 F. the secondary fan (drivers side) is only commanded on when the a/c is on, in which case both fans operate. This is based on the signal received by the ecu from the coolant temp sensor which is on the water outlet near the thermostat on 2G cars.

My factory temp gauge does not stay at half like all my friends dsm's. My fan does not kisk on until it reaches three quarters on the temp gauge. The fan brings it back to half. A few minutes later it repeats. The car will not stay at a steady temp. It only does this at idle.

I would start by draining/flushing/replacing the coolant & replacing the thermostat while you`re at it. This is good maintenence to do anyway, & a good place to start when addressing any cooling system issue . . . :talon:

I have changed the thermostat. I was going to give it a flush, but the coolant look really clean so i didnt bother.

Also slightly low coolant level will affect fan operation, if the level is a little low, & not in contact with the sensor, the coolant temp signal will be incorrect & can delay fan operation, if your full, you may just have an erratic dash guage or sender(the single pin sender next to the coolant sensor), as it sounds like your system is working correctly :talon:

Thanx for the help bro. Whats the single pin sender? Is there a way to check eng temp besides hooking up another gauge?

The single pin sender is the temp guage(on the dash)sender. This is what signals the guage on the dash to display the temp. Mine has been a little erratic sometimes, I don`t even look at it anymore, that`s probably what is going on with yours -
