what happen if you run meth in your car but in the long run you forget to refill and hit boost? Would any damages occur? Or even if you do not hit boost at all.

:coy:

This is why some people run there pumps off the stock washer fluid bottle.

Edit
To answer your question ya I guess you'll blow the engine. I can run 25psi with 94octane but I have to take some timing out to get rid of the knock. With the meth kit I'm installing I'm going to try to run 30psi with good timing. If I run out of meth I'm pretty sure the engine will be toast.

I'd figure the motor will go boom. Some turbocharged miatas were telling me nothing will happen if you run out of meth if your in boost.

Running meth by itself doesn't add any power. Meth is used because it has a very high octane rating, similar to race gas. Water actually cools the intake charge much better, hence people use a mix of water and meth. The thing that adds power is the fact that when you use water/meth you can run a much more aggressive tune. So to answer your question, by itself nothing would happen, but if you have used it to run a very aggressive tune and then run it it would be akin to running your race gas tune on pump.

Sorry I ment to say meth/water, a mixture of both. So yes it would hurt the motor. I see what you mean. I hate to stay away from a meth kit but with gas prices and I cannot afford to buy other fluids for the car that I am going to have to refill weekly.

oh really, witch is? I know there is a mixture around here somewhere that explain on how you can make your own meth/water

if you run out of meth it wont hurt your engine unless your running extreme amouns of boost the point of meth water injection is like other people say to cool the charge and increase your octane so you can run extreme timing and higher boost levels but if your running just a mooderate tune and you run out of meth than no your engine should be fine but thats why i installed a low meth light on mine

LOL i wanted to come in here with a smart ass comment becuase of the title of the thread, along the lines of you car may start to scratch itself alot and develop sores along with stayin up for days on end and being banned from you local walmart. But instead i learned a few things while reading my way down to the reply button.

It all depends on your tune, if you're using the meth to it's fullest potential and tuning the motor to rely on having the meth for high boost and high timing and have the AFR's dialed in with the meth on, then YES you will toast you motor fast if you don't realize you're out of meth and let off the gas in a hurry.

Now, if you're tuned to say 11:1 on pump gas alone and are running only moderate boost say ~ 20psi and moderate timing , say ~ 18-20*. Then if you run out , your AFR's will be okay, so at most the ECU would most likely hear the knock and pull timing, This is the less dangerous method, but you still don't want to run it without the meth for very long since you'll most likely be knocking under WOT unless you turn the boost down until you refil the meth.

If you were to tune the car where it would be fine wihtout the meth, then you wouldn't be taking full advantage of it, or making your full potential power.

I've run meth previously in my Evos, and I don't get where everyone is coming from saying it won't hurt if you run out. I guess I can see what you're saying if you mean you are not going to be running in boost at all, but that is extremely difficult :)

I was running 30psi with additional timing after we couldn't push past 25psi without meth/water injection...that gives you an idea of how much trouble you will be in if you run out of meth/water and go into boost.

If you are running water/meth injection without being tuned to take advantage of it to the point where it doesn't matter if you run out, I'd be worried too. You are injecting additional fluid into your engine that apparently doesn't matter if it's there or not, which tells me that it may not be burning off properly and you may end up with a rod through your block.

I would either tune for meth, install proper failsafes, and ensure your tank is always full - or don't install it at all. It's really not something to go middle of the road on and just assume it will give you the power when you feel like filling it up.

Good luck :thumb:

And please dont cheap out on crappy pumps that will Fail aftertime. wich leads u to the same thing. No fluid goin in.

i rock a stg2 snow performance.

Exactly, a quality system goes a long way. I've heard good things about snow, but only have first hand exp. with DevilsOwn and it's a great product at a great price (and Chance has awesome customer service)

And they use the best pump IMO and that's the Shur-Flo w/adjustable pressure

I use a progressive alky kit from Alkycontrol. This kit uses a map sensor that turns the alky on at 4psi @ low pump pressure and is @ full pressure by 12psi. I run straight meth and boost to 28psi with 0 knock on 91. Julio's kit uses Braided stainless lines and superflow pumps, low meth level indicator as well and his customer service is great.:thumb:

X2 for Julio. I run his kit on my turbo Regal with straight meth. Quality product and a good vendor. Yes, if you are tuned to use meth then you need to make sure you keep the supply checked. Running out will result in knock which can be deadly to an engine.

Also, a word of caution if you are using wiper fluid. They are not always the same and mix ratio's can vary from one batch to the next. It may be okay if you are not on the edge with your tuning but to get the most out of your kit it is suggested that you mix your own.
