I'm selling those parts and someone wants me to ship them. I can't get an accurate weight of them just putting them on my scale in the bathroom, so does anyone know the weight of these items? The bumper has no lights, just bare bumper. Much appreciated.

Is it the spoiler from a 95-96 or 97-98?

Read the title.
Just take it into ups or fed x and ask them for a quote.
I'll most likely be going through USPS if possible. I'll call them tomorrow since I have the measurements and see if they can weigh it and send it from their local office.

Are shipping prices only decided on weight or is size a factor too?

Both weight and size. Whenever I've done it anyway.

DHL is the cheapest for shipping something that size. I've shipped bumpers 400+ miles for around $20 with them. As far as weighing them, they can do it for you or you can kind of guesstimate. They are not going to care if you are a few pounds off. Thats how I do all of my shipping and I've never once had a problem. Use bubble wrap and shrink wrap to package it with, that will protect the bumper/spoiler plenty and cut down on the size. Plus finding a box that big is going to be absurd.

Thanks, I'll try DHL even though I'll have to find one in my area first. I've never used them before.
Thread title says 2GB, therefore 97-99.

I always thought that after a certain size shipping companies went by size and not weight, but I might be wrong about that.

Thank you.

USPS has asked for weight when I print off shipping labels from them. One time I was off a little and I got billed that amount from the post office the next day.

Things like this are shipped by size and weight is not really an issue unless a hundred lbs or more. The issue is space, a 4 foot 15 lb bumper (not accurate) is taking up that much more room where other valuable shipments could be.

Look into trucking companies and see if you can piggy back on a pallet shipment, shouldn't cost any more than 50.00, and it's safe on the top of a shrink wrapped pallet.

As for the spoiler, the 95-96 style should be able to fit inside the bumper, the 97-98 style would probably have to be packaged by itself.

DHL is the way to go, only cost me $36 to ship my 2ga bumpers, I dont have the invoices or id tell ya the weights, and my front 2gb(99 eclipse) bumper is out back. I had to "shrink" the bumper, Basicly i use twine to pull it on its self and covered it with brown paper bag, worked out well, DHL will charge reg ground if you can get it with in there LxWxH sizes. UPS forget it, USPS pfff what a joke LOL.

USPS will NOT ship that bumper because the girth is over their limit. The cheapest way to ship the bumper is Greyhound. I sold my 2Gb front bumper and shipped it Greyhound because USPS would not take it. DHL wanted $200 to ship it and UPS would not even take it. As for how much it weight, if I remember correctly, the package I had with bubble wrap weighed around 20 pounds.

Yeah, DHL quoted me $230 and it's just going the next state over! I'll call Greyhound tomorrow.

weigh yourself, then hold the bumper while on the scale ;)

I was about to do that but I figured I'd just ask since I knew someone must've shipped a bumper before. My scale isn't that accurate compared to the people at the shipping center anyway. They lie I think...

Greyhound goes by size, not weight, so it doesn't really matter how much it weighs. They have a fixed weight limit for the size and the bumper is way below their limit.
