Ummm, my only guess to how this happened was i started to add more and more e85 and i might have ran a little too lean or something...
The plugs are ngk e7s..

So i was in the garage tuning and whatnot when all of a sudden the car began to idle like crap and i heard a loud tick tick tick and then the car died... I turned it over again and it idled then died... so I did all the small checks, spark plug wires, injector wires, etc... so then i pulled the plugs to find #4 is missing a tip...!! while shining a light into the spark plug hole i saw little shinny metal pieces.... So i pulled the head... to find this

I didnt take a picture of the head, since it only had a couple scratches on it.. the piston is what I'm worried about more... Is it safe to throw the head back on and do compression test and go about my day? Or does the piston need to come out?

These are Wiseco Forged Pistons if that matters any... im more concerted about the 2 big nicks in the top and bottom... cylinder wall is unscratched.

I would replace it. If you use it the least that will happen is it will have hot spots which will cause pre-ignition. Look at the top of the picture at the edge of the piston where there is a dent on the piston. That looks like it could have messed up the cylinder wall.

Clean the piston off, see if there are any fine groves that IN YOUR OPINION, could heat up and like 1992awdlaser, cause pre-ignition. If it looks fine, I'd probably take some very, very fine sandpaper (1000+ grit) and carefully rub the top of the piston off a little (emphasis on a little) to make sure there are no sharp edges on it and toss the head back on if it looks good. It's really hard to tell from your picture though.

I have to agree.

Another thing... Look at the top left valve slot in that piston. it looks poorly made the way ti goes over past the edge of the piston.
