Winnipeg,
I've been fighting with this fcking transmission for 2 days now and I can not get this god damn thing to go into place. This is so frustrating. Ive gotten it to the point where its pretty much on and I just can't get it to fully go.

I used the alignement tool to line up the clutch disc. I checked that the clutch disk does slide onto the output shaft. The transmission has been in neutral the entire time.

I dont know what else to do.. It seems like having the drivers side axle in place is making it even more of a bi***.. Is it necessary to remove the drivers side axle to get this thing to go into place?

Im on my last nerve with this stupid thing.

I took the driver's side axle out and it really made it so much easier.. I just got underneath the car heaved the tranny onto my chest and kinda benchpressed it into place then while it was sorta on there put a scissor jack under to supported it and allow me to get it just right.. was actually pretty easy this way.

Anyways after all this going crazy trying to get the tranny in, it would seem that I forgot to put something in.. although it appears I would have missed this while putting the new flywheel on..

This metal gasket/spacer type thing that I guess goes behind the flywheel against the block.. Its got the shape of the top half on the bellhousing.. Its not gasket material or anything just a metal piece.. Should I pull everything off just to put this thing on?? Or will I be ok w/o it..

Well shit.. I just decided to take it off again as much as it killed me.. took the pressure plate and flywheel off.. put the piece back on.. put everything back together. Wasn't too bad, I actually pulled the transmission off a third time to shim the pivot ball.

Getting pretty good at putting that transmission on after all this. ROFL

Thanks for the input.

Cheers.
