ok i have a fwd 90 laser :laser:. i was driving down the road yesterday and it started backfiring when i got into it about half way then after about 2mins more of driving it shut off. i tried to start it again and did but it didnt even stay running for 10 seconds. i started it and gave it gas and it still didnt stay running i pulled off to the side and had a friend start it and i pushed the throttle and it backfire out of the air intake. i was thinking computer but then when i put it in the garage and was looking at it, it randomly made a sort of clicking sparking noise from somewhere around the intake manifold. I started it up and it immediatly shut off but the noise under the hood was worse right after it shut itself off. ( this time when i pushed the gas it stayed running and the rpms went up still hesitating a little) it seems to be coming from a small cylinder by the left side of the manifold with wires coming out of the it but im not for sure . does that sound like a computer issue to anyone else thats what happened with my 92 eclipse also and it was the computer but the sound is new. i looked threw my book and didnt find what that is im going to look more tommorrow but i would appreciate it if i could get some opinions. thanks for reading this long paragraph LOL.
