I have searched and read up on tons of different exhaust on here especially the ebay thread which there is a ton of great info but here is my issue. I have a 91 AWD talon. first off is there a difference in exhaus setup between the 91-94 and 95-99 AWD talons/eclipses? meaning will the exhaust interchange or will there be fitment issues? also I I want to go a new downpipe but all the ones I have seen are a 2.5 inlet 3" outlet... I want a down pipe thats a true 3" in and out. were can I get that? also I have been reading that some of the down pipes come with the cat deleted already... basicly I am wanting a full 3" turbo back exhaust so any info will help.

They do not fit for a whole plethora of fitment reasons.. One mostly being the back of it.. The suspension in the back will get in the way of the exhaust..

The dp's that are 2.5 inlet are usually for fitment to the stock o2 housing. If you don't want it, just take it to an exhaust shop and get that little inch or so replaced with 3in and a 3in flange. As far as the rest of the exhaust, you can go test pipe, cat or cat deleted DP. For the cat back portion, you're going to need a 1g awd exhaust only. FWD and 2g's are not compatible. Good luck!

also is there going to be a huge difference on if I go from 2.5 to 3" since its only a small spotthat is 2.5?

Some people will tell you that tubular manifolds are great, but it seems like overwhelmingly they break and don't offer a whole lot of extra performance as far as what the 2.5" to 3' downpipe will do heres a great link Eclipse Exhaust System Upgrades read up on their race downpipes but in short the answer is that a 2.5" pipe is not restrictive where the gases are hot and as long as it quickly goes to 3" there is little/no performance loss.

ok is there a o2 housing upgrade availible for the 1g?

If you want something better then a 2.5" before the flex section, get an Evo3 O2 housing & mate it with the 2.75" --> 3" (after the flex section) that DeJon Tool makes... I have both on my car now and it's opened up the exhaust considerably vs that of my old 2.5" turbo-back system.

The Megan DP is 2.5 for the flange and maybe a 1/2 in below, then full 3in the rest of the way. Not a big deal and definately a lot of room for flow. I'm still using a ported 2g o2 and exhaust manny on my big-ish turbo and it's fine to me. :dunno:

ok see thats what I am wanting to know if there will be conciderable difference on power if it is a 2.5 to 3" or not cause the dp im looking at is 2.5 for a mere inch the is swelled up to a 3" before it even hits the bend.
