Well i keep getting deeper and deeper into my build. I made a cap for my spare tire well. Since i never had a spare and i'm not really worried about it. I made a cap that went where the original pos fiber board went, it broke so what the hell. I made the cap out of 1/2" MDF, i cut it out to form to the trunk then got some carpet at wal mart(superised that it matched so close) used some adhesive and staples on the underside. Now i'm going to be putting a battery, Nitrous/Co2 tank, and i'm think about putting a larger meth tank in there too not sure yet. Anyways i'm not putting that shitty heavy wal mart battery back there. I want to get a Braille Carbon Fiber lightweight racing battery with a braille tie down. These batteries are very nice and small. They look good too! i'm not sure what size i want there are three sizes, the three sizes range from i think 320 cranking amps, 460 cranking amps and the bigger one at 1126 cranking amps. My question is what size should i get whats the lowest amount of cold cranking amps i should get? I think the 460 will be plenty?

No one knows this? All i need to know is what is the minimium amount of cold cranking amps needed to start our cars!

Thats just a very obscure question.. Do you have a shop manual? Call autozone.. They should have it on file.. If anything, call Mitsubishi.. They may know...

I know that there are other levels of batteries from braille auto in Carbon fiber. Let me get those for you, shouldn't be a big deal to get a 902 cca battery if it still only weighs 11lbs.

11 lbs. and 902 cold cranking amps!

There are a few others as well, but the shop that sells them isn't a vendor here, you'd have to PM me.

Is it hard on your car or battery to move it to the trunk I guess i meen what are the pros and cons of moving that battery to the trunk, just for more room in the engine bay?

Cleaner bay and more room to work in. The most likely reason to move it to the back is for weight distribution. Since the driver is on the left, taking the battery from the front to the rear passenger area helps weight transfer as well as offsetting the weight of the driver to make the sides more even.

Oh i thougt there was only 3 different models of the carbon fiber ones. I dont really care if it's carbon fiber or not i just didn't want a white one since the battery tiedown isn't a box that is goin to hide it. I would even consider other brands of the gel batteries. I'm open to any ideas! I just really would like to know what is the least amount of amps i could pass by with?

if you want something a little cheaper look into a deka battery. its the exact same thing as the brailles except you're not paying for the brand name.

The battery in my car is an Optima red, I stole it out my home boys old race car after my optima yellow died. The red I'm using is about 950ish cca. It works fine. Keep in mind, you are going to need something a little more powerful than usual since it will be so far away from the starter and running through 6 or 7 foot of cable.
In our camaro we had been running a weaker red top and it started the car just fine, then I moved it to the back and it had a little trouble starting it. So now I've got 2 reds back there, LOL.

You really want to save money?

Buy a Deka Battery

Braille Batteries are just re-packaged Deka's and are twice the price, This is common knowledge in the water-cooled VW world
but Deka doesn't offer a carbon fiber version AFAIK. And really, there couldn't be more than a 1/4 lb difference between the plastic case and the composite... besides looking cool

also, if you look at the ratings, Braille over-rates them and Deka under-rates them... but rest assured they are the same battery (except for maybe the carbon case)... I have seen side-by-side comparisons of the two (CA and CCA) and they are the exact same batteries. Also Deka has like 10 different sizes to choose from where as Braille used to have only 2

Also, those brass adapter poles are not available through Deka, but I just made my own for about $5.

Here's some old pics of the install in my vee dub..

Sorry the pics don't really show how identical they are
