Took the car to the track the other day and noticed that boost kept climbing past 20 with my 14b even with the mbc set to 15-16psi. I continued to turn down mbc and boost still went to 20+, I then removed mbc and ran direct wastegate from j-pipe. Boost held steady at 10psi for about half track and then would start to climb to 20+ again. Wastegate actuator seems to move freely but does require effort to pull out and also holds vacuum. I've never experianced this before and the exhaust has been on my car for about a year. If its any help I did a boost leak test the night before and fixed a few leaky vacuum lines and b.o.v flange. I have a few other issues but I will post them in other threads to avoid confusion.

Have you disconnected the WGA arm from the lever on the housing to see if the lever turns easily? The WG lever shaft might be binding up a bit in the turbine housing. Also make sure the arm isn't rubbing or catching on the heat shield if you still have it. Wonder if the heat in the hotside after half a lap is causing something to bind.

Hey buddy I had this same exact problem with my 2g.. Mine was set at exactly 15 psi until I put a Greddy Type-S on it.. Now I dont know what blow off valve you are running but with the Type-S it has another nipple to help raise the valve faster off its seat.. Well I hooked it up to a boosted source which happened to be my MBC line between the BOV and the turbo outlet pipe and that sucker just boosted way past 20 psi.. Its was insane and I did not notice until it fuel cut.. Try checking if you are running anything off that line man it might be interfering with ya pneumatics..

my exhaust manifold gasket does have a slight leak at the corners, would this be a concern or wouldn't this cause a lose of boost pressure and delayed spool?

I'm using a forge recirc b.o.v with a blue spring and 2 shims, with a boost leak test it holds to about 20psi and it using the factory b.o.v vacuum line for the car and nothing else is hooked up to it. As for the wastegate, the vacuum line came off the jpipe into the boost controller and then into the wastegate. This problem was still ocurring with just a line from the jpipe to wastegate, this problem just started to happen all the time a while ago but I would notice first thing in the morning I would get into it and and it would just go past 20. Im left to beleive something is sticking but the flapper is free and there isn't much in the system to go wrong. I picked up a used wastegate actuator for a few bucks so I'll give that a try and let you know how it works it just may be till monday before I can do it
