Hey. So today when I was driving around I heard a really bad squeek from the front right. The car has been shaking real bad for a few weeks when I brake so I am thinkin my strut or something is going out. I have tein ss coilovers with pillow ball uppermounts. Is it possible to buy just a single unit for the front right or do I have to buy the whole suspension again? If I do which is better for autocross the super street series or type flex? Thanks

umm.. hold up.. we need a lil more info than that..

It could be the hub, a loose bolt, really warped rotors... Brakes are supposed to squeeeeeek when they are wearing thin.. Its literally the alarm to change and/or check the brakes...

If it is shaking really bad when you brake, I am going to say check the rotors.. When was the last time you had a brake service?

New brakes were put on about a month ago with new lines. When I push down on the front right fender it has no give to it and makes a very loud squeek. When the car is moving slow and I turn the wheel it squeeks. I was in a wreck about a year ago that had heavy damage on the front right. I had replaced almost everything on that front right side. The suspension was one thing that didn't need fixed... I am guessing that i had a crack strut and slowly it has been leaking fluid or something along those lines.

its a balljoint or control arm or compression arm. Check your front end.. put you car in the air, just jack it up with a spare tire jack or home jack. grab the left and right side of the tire push on your left hand and right hand is the tire wiggling back and forth? do the same with your hand at the top of your tire and the bottom and push back and forth does it wiggle? tire has to be in the air in order for this to work

the balljoint and control arm were replaced about 7 months ago. I not sure what the compression arm is but when I got in the wreck it bent two steal bars on the front right. Both bent bars were replaced.

Yeah, but how bad were all the mounting positions for those components tweaked when you wrecked it?

A strut wouldnt really make a s squeek, per se'.. But you really need to get the car on jack stands and see if there is any play in that wheel.. Check your wheel bearing, as well..

going back to that squeak. mine was doing the exact same thing but mine turned out to be the dreaded dsm strut tower rust out. the mounting for the upper control arm was rusted and starting to give when i moved the car so check that. if not that check your sway bar links because theyll give a nice squeak when you turn the wheel, go round a corner or hit bumps. just grab the link and wiggle it around. if it has alot of movement in it id recomend replacing them.

They were pretty bad. I was ran off the road and hit the center divider on the freeway doin about 60 mph or so. It was one of those wire dividers so I took down about 6-8 poles that hit right on the front right side. So maybe when the new parts were put on they were lined up correctly? Is that what ya tryin to say? I could see that because that whole side got torn up... but my intercooler lived haha it may be bent to hell but it still works. And who ever checks out these threads remove that guy who is posting in this section about his boost and all that please.

Sounds good sorry I will tell everyone what I have installed it might help us better. I had the super street tein suspension put on about two years ago with the pillow ball upper mounts. After the wreck I had the arms replaced along with a brand new trans and clutch because the wreck tore a chunk out. I had the rm sway bars put on about two months ago. I had new rotors put on about 7ish months ago with new lines and pads put on a month ago. I also had a new rack and pinion put on a month ago and um thats about it that I can think of thats to the front of the car.

Woo struts are bad. Thats what a local shop down here says. He also said that I should replace the upper mounts... now the question is do I go back to performance suspension or say screw it and scrap the car and sell it seeming how I have kept all of the oem parts. haha
