aem fuel reg diaphram bad ?!

Hey guys this is my problem. I tossed my stock fuel reg for an after market since my stock one had a bad diaphram.. I have hard start problems and a harsh backfire at high rev usually 3rd gear. I checked both fuel regulators with a vacuum pump and neither of them held vacuum.. does that mean that they r garbage? I would think they are but i question it when both r bad. One is used one is brand new both crappy aem shit but im not too sure if they work the same way as a factory regulator..

If you got it from ebay that is why you are having problems.

Buying something like this from ebay can kill your motor or if it fails can catch your car on fire.

ya i know i was desperate and dont worry i have learned from my ebay mistakes... im just gonna get a factory one and deal with it..
