I just installed a 255 pump, AFPR and all SS lines on my brothers 1g AWD. When we got done and cranked it over it wouldn't start. I assumed I wired the pump wrong but after researching I don't know. The power wire is on a post on the bottom of the sending unit that has the red wire coming in from the top. I grounded it to the screw that the stock pump uses for a ground.

Any one know what I could have done? How long does it take the gas to circulate through the new lines? I turned it over for awhile but not very long, maybe it just never made it up to the engine?

Any thoughts/ideas are welcome, it is his DD so I needed it back on the road like yesterday. Thanks

When I did mine on my 2g I didn't realize it but I ended up kinking the fuel hose. My car wouldn't start and I figured I wired it wrong. Also, can you hear the fuel pump turn on when you click the key forward?

I don't think the pump is coming on, but I think my wiring is right so that is why I am confused. All of the lines are stainless now so I know they can't be kinked.

Is the fuel pump new ?
you could get a current tester and check the power wires.
you can also ground the fuel pump and run a hot wire straight from the battery to see if the fuel pump functions.
if the fuel pump comes on after that I would begin checking my fuel pump relays.

If you can get the pump to run but no fuel i guarantee that you have the seal in the fuel pump sideways. I just did the same wed.:D
