I just put in a new rebuilt motor. It has 80 miles on it as of now. This thing will fill my neighborhood with smoke. It only smokes at certain times when boosting, but mainly at idle and deceleration. One weird thing i noticed is that when i go WOT and let off and get back on it, it will shoot a cloud of smoke out. I know that new motors will smoke untill the rings seat in. But i never thought it would be this much. Is it possible that its burning off assembly lube or something of that matter?

Check your turbo for shaft play, you many have a blown turbo. Also why are you going WOT on a brand new motor thats not even broken in, bad idea IMO.

I was thinking the same thing. I had a new engine in my 97 and smoked on start up and for a few miles( Like 2) Check the turbo.

turbo or head gasket and we know its prob m=not the head gasket. I had those same symptoms but on an older motor and i thought it was a headgasket so i changed it, still smoking bad. it was the turbo had a ton of shaft play in and out and side to side. Mine didnt smoke at idle until the car had been running for a few minutes then it would.
