OK I've been doing some research and I keep coming across people using both 2nd gen and Evo3 parts to help their 1g get higher compression, bigger exhaust manifold and intake manifold and etc. I was wondering if people could help me out here. I wanna make a list of what parts can be taken and used from both 2nd gen and Evo3 for the 1st gens. Man people where I live are starting to wonder too. And If any one can compare which part is better the one of the 2nd gen or evo3 if the same parts can be taken. Thanks for reading and hopefully replying ( yes I've been digging through the threads already) and sorry if my grammar really sucks.

I heard the 2g's have better exhaust manifolds, and I noticed a lot of 1g guys use a 2g maf. Evo3 stuff I don't know to much about, but I think there intake manifolds have shorter stacks.

2G manifold
2G o2 housing
evo 3 manifold
evo 3 o2 housing
evo 3 injectors
2G head
evo 3 turbo
2G MAS
2G pistons

Thats just a couple parts when it comes down to it there is alot of parts that will go on your 1G from a 2G and evo 3. The list would be pretty long if I named everything.

your right but use the evo3 pistons over the 2g pistons 9.0com.

Ok's the list so far

2G manifold
2G o2 housing
2G head
2G MAS
2g twin piston calipers
2g pistons 8:5.1
2g throttle body

evo 3 manifold
evo3 o2 housing
evo3 510cc injectors
evo3 16g

evo 8 MAS

The one comparision is to use evo3 pistons because the have 9.0 com.( I'm assuming com means compression as in a 9.0 -1 but I'll look into this if someone has this info let me know)

Ok comparision between 2g manifolds, o2 housing, and the Evo3 manifolds, and o2 housings.

Thanks for the help, and agian sorry if my grammar and or spelling is horrible

Yes, you're correct to assume the evo 9.0 com = compression. The 2g's are 8.5:1. And from what I've heard the evo pistons are slightly lighter. Not positive, but I seem to remember reading up on them when I built my motor some time ago.

OK I'm just wondering about any heads and camshafts too now. And what about brakes i know the wheels are swappable but what about braking systems, crankshafts, or any driveline parts?

Just ideas that popped into my head as I reread this thread so any and all help would be awesome and greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Phirn no alteration needed. the evo3 motor in general is the same as the 1g motors. Only differences being the turbo, exh mani, intake mani,o2 housing, injectors. It will bolt up just fine to your 1g head.

this is defiantly good info, i found this in another thread.
