fix thermostat now and drive home 90 gst

okay, im sick of wiating for the tow for my 90 gst, im gonna go afterwork pick up the new thermostat, change it myself and drive it aroudnthe block there and see if it overheats, if it doesnt im gonna drive it back to the shop here, im also thinking since the 2 front tires arent holding air even after i changed the pins, im gonna get that penzoil fix a flat tire thats like 10 bucks? any advice

Well what happened to the car though? Did it overheat? Why do you need a tow?

it overheats, everytime we move it, so i posted a threat last week, and it needs a new thermostat, i just bought the car too for a grand so i knew it would have some problems, this happens to be the one, so im gonna go buy the part at autozone now, chagne it, refill the antifreeze and coolant and give it a spin, hopefully it doesnt overheat and i can drive it back to the shop here

I recommend going to mitsu for the thermostat b/c the ones at the part stores aren't oem, and the opening is smaller. It's only two or three dollars more, and will function much better.

I'm told there are actually 16 seperate programs in the factory ECU that depend on an accurate reading from a good thermostat. Get an OEM replacement!

yes i will, car made it to the garage, took a 50 mile detour, we took out the thermostat and tossed it, ran water through it, would stay cold, until traffic, had to keep putting water in, also kepts checking oil just incase the headgasket, and it did not blow, fans do not turn on either, she needs lots of work, i will post photos soon
