-ok so a shop is installing a clutch on my GSX, they put in a ACT 2600, resurface the flywheel and, a new slave cylinder

-drove it around the block it started slipping, when i got back to the shop, it was really bad(luckly i didn't drive it far from the shop)

shut the car off, turn it back on and it wont go in any gear, reverse grinds.

-then they replace the master cylinder and SS clutch line and a new ACT 2600

and its slipping again

they are trying a new flywheel now,

do you guys think that the flywheel was resurfaced wrong in the first place? idk if they checked the spec after it was resurfaced.

or something in the tranny?

i did post this in the tranny section too, but im a noob and no one ever goes there LOL sorry

thanks

Did you break in the clutch properly? Did you adjust the pedal to get a good engagement point? New slave, throw out bearing, pivot ball, clutch fork? Sounds like it wasn't properly adjusted and broken in causing the clutch to wear prematurely.

it started slipping in less then a 1/4 mile LOL

its started slipping when i was leaving the shop, then i turned around and went back

i guess there was the wrong fly wheel installed, on the last clutch install, before i bought the car. does that sound like it would cause my problems?

If it is the wrong flywheel it probably wouldn't have bolted up. It is most likely the master cylinder rod; you need to adjust it correctly. It's located behind the clutch pedal. Take a 12mm wrench to the locking nut. After the nut is loose twist the rod until you reach the desired engagment point. You typically need to do this after a new clutch install.

they are installing a new oem flywheel, if that does nt ofix it then i will try and do the adjusting my self.

i guess the flywheel had 3 rings on the backside and he said it looks just like a 2g flywheel.

thanks though!
