ok i've searched for like a half hour on something that could answer my question and i found nothing so i apologize if i didnt look hard enough, anyways on a friday night i was cruising around "the wash" (for those who live in or near madison,WI) and i downshifted in second going about 40ish and killed this civic trying to race, anyways after i put it in nuetral coming out of third i heard pieces come out of under me like "clink clink clink" after that my speedometer dropped to zero and wouldnt move at all. i tried shifting into all gears and after i let go of the clutch to engage it, the car stalled even though i was rolling at about 50 mph, i realized i could not go anymore so i rolled into the nearest parking spot and checked it out. smoke came out from under the hood and under the car. the engine still runs hard i just cant go anywhere even after i applied gas and let go of the clutch pedal. at first i thought it was the clutch but it wasnt. the next day i checked it out under the car and found a quarter size whole on the shell of the transmission or whatever. I want to know what exactly i have to fix, replace or do i need to get a complete new tranny? oh yeah i have a 5-speed mitsubishi eclipse gs so it has the 420A engine. let me know i would appreciate it. also is there a transmission for sale on the market that is ment for performance that will fit the 420A motor? im planning on getting a hahn stage 1 or 3 kit and i want my clutch to be able handle even though the stock clutch is suppose to be able to, but i might as well put in a performance clutch while the engine is out. I thank you for reading all of this and a thanks in adance to anyones help.
