wtf is a hard wafer tippet ?

55Rc refers to a coating for increased hardness. My guess as far as "wafer tippet" is that it is a coating on the valve head, similar to what you'll find on most.

Note the coating that is on the lower end in the picture.

That price is excellent, but I don't know about the product. Contact the seller and find out about the manufacturer if possible.

From their shop, it appears that a few specific valves are their specialty - which could be a good sign. It seems that they may be selling for a machine shop that has decided to enter the market and produce rather large runs. If you can find out what shop and do some side research it may benefit you tremendously.

55Rc isn't a coating, it is a measure of surface hardness using the Rockwell C hardness scale. 440CSS and D2 steels are usually around 55 on this scale. I don't know how this compares to conventional valves in hardness, though - hardness testers aren't cheap.

Hey i bought some valve guides from this person. They seem decent and to work well. I was actually going to buy the valves today for a different head i have to rebuild and see how they did LOL

I just meant by the notation the advertisement used, it appears they only refer to the ends being the hardness of that rating, not the entire valve.
