wiring up 2g for 1g? Do i have the wrong plug

OK i was about to do the wire harness for the 2g maf, So i can but it on my 1g awd car.
I was looking at the one in the FAQ. But it is totally different from what I have here.

The plug that goes on the 2g maf wire are different color..
Starting with the left side of the plug ( clip on top)
1.green with yellow strip.
2.pink
3.white with black strip.
4.black with red strip.
5.black
6.red with blue strip.
7.green with white strip.
8.empty slot.

Ok there are 7 wires coming from the 2g maf. Now when I broke apart the plug (connector) off of the 1g maf there are only 6 connectors that can be soldered to.

Is there anything I can do? Here is a picture of what im dealing with so you guys can see what I mean.

So the harness from the 2g is ok but the connector from the 1g is no good?...IS there a way i can hard wire it my 1g stock wire harness.?

where did you get that plug??? you have to have that onther wire. Was your car originally turbo'd???

I got the car as a project..It is a 91 talon tsi awd...The turbo was off of it and this is the maf that the guy said was on it or he had to replace the maf...The 2g maf was said to be from a turbo'd car.. the model on the 2g maf says 609. E5t06071.
Im going to go and check to see if the other end were the 1g maf plugs into has 7 to 8 pins on it....

Ok i just went outside to check the other end where you would plug the maf to does have 7 wires to it.

yeah the 2g plug looks to be right. If you can get a hold of only pin like in the 1g maf plug then you can put it in a wire, put it in the plug and you should be good to go. Like I said though that plug is from a N/T 1g

IS there a way I can cut the plug off of the car, and wire up the 2g maf harness to it...I don't see why i can't but when i was looking at the colors on the 2g maf they don't match up to the ones in the VFAQ.

yeah you can do that but as your cuting the wire from the plug mark what its functions is and match that function to the 2g harness function

How do i know what wire go where! The VFAQ doesn't have it with those color wires.
