hey got a question? im about to replace the suspension on my car and im looking at getting either tokico hp struts or kyb GR2 struts... my question is wht good but affordable coilovers can i put on these struts? will i need to get adjustable struts... im looking to drop my car about 3.5 inches. ride quality is important to me but im willing to sacrifice it if i can get a good setup that will last me a long time? ################################################################# thanks mekal

welcome fellow iowaian!! get the best ones you can get. I did lowering springs on one of my cars and just bought oem new sturts and it didnt last all to long.

I had tokico struts on my old car and am thinking about purchasing them again for my eclipse. Currently I have Eibach sportline lowering springs with oem struts and love the way my car sits and rides, I do advise upgrading the struts which is what I will be doing soon. Check out my pictures if you want to see how my car sits on lowering springs.

I had coilovers on my old car as well and did not like the ride quality at all.

hey sewey gsx.... i like the ride height.... how far of a drop did you get with the springs? wht kind are they? im looking to drop my car around 3.5 inches and i didnt think i would be able to find any springs that would let me drop it that low.. right now i got some cheap ebay coilovers on the stock struts LOL. the ride height is were i want it but it rides like crap.

Wrong Wrong Wrong. Do NOT go eBay coilovers. With stock struts, youd blow those struts out in about a block.

Drop 3.5 inches with a good ride? Lets be realistic, that WONT happen.

Koni Yellows with Ground Controls. :thumb: I think thats the best you can do for these cars. Im not sure about the filiment for the NTs though.

Absolute is right. The cheap ebay coilovers will ruin your factory struts out faster than anything. I have Eibach Sportlines and I probably got a 1.5 or maybe 2 inch drop out of them. Like I said I like the ride and the way the car sits but it will ride much better when I replace the factory struts which I will be doing soon. You don't want to go cheap on the suspension.

To get a decent ride with a 3.5" drop, you will have to get a full coilover kit. Like tein or any coilover with a theaded stut body for ajustment. But the will cost anywere from $700.00 to $2000.00

You will never get a decent ride with a 3.5" drop. Our cars do not have enough suspension travel to drop the car that much and still maintain any kind of ride quality.
