Car was running really wierd. The symptoms were really loud spool, lacks power, didn't feel the turbo pull at any rpm. Did a boost leak test and found some major leaks. The vacumn line to the EGR wasn't connected. The EGR solinoid isn't holding vacumn, and the turbo return line is really kinked.

Now my question is, do I have to replace the EGR solinoid or can I block off the vacumn lines? If so, how?

About the turbo return line, can I boost 12 psi with the kink? How is it bad that the return line is kinked? Could the kink cause the turbo to spool that loud? Is the turbo blown? There is no shaft play at all.

Thanks for the help.

Fix your boost leaks and put the line back on the EGR. What do you mean the EGR it isn't holding a vacuum?

If the turbo is spooling, it probably isn't blown. How kinked is the return line? If it looks bad enough that you are bringing it up on a forum, i'm gonna have to say that you should replace it. You shouldn't be trying to boost at all until all of these things are fixed.

with the kinked oil return, line you can easily blow the turbo seal, and all that oil, that you getting from feed line gonna go to your exhaust system, which would lead you to a really bad smoke and really nasty smell :) ,that's what happened to mines 16g :(

The ERG solinoid doesn't have vacumn. I pull the vacuum and connect it to a vacuum gauge, rev the engine and see it spike to 5 psi and drop quickly.

The turbo is spooling, but really really loud. If i'm cruising at 65 mph, and not in boost, you can hear it over the stereo. I'm not boosting at all untill the 16g install, just need some clarity on the subject. Thanks.

Its kinked so bad that it looks like you can barely fit a quarter through it, real skinny. THe stock oil pressure is always high aswell, except for idle. I don't see smoke out hte exhaust but it does smell rich here and there, and plus the turbo is leaking coolant a little bit.
