What is the difference between the two? Would the 2g calipers fit on the 1g? Would there be any benefits to this?

I know the front ones from the 2g are better on the 1g, but I'm curious if I can improve my braking more by using the rears also...

Word from the wise. "The more braking force you have in the front, the less you need in the rear." Think about it. You can have 2 piston rears, but still want stop as hard as 2 piston fronts. Leave to backs alone. Get the 3kgt or 2g AWD and through those on teh fronts. Get nice pads and rotors all around with new fluid and stainless steel lines, and you have one hell of a braking machine.

heh, thought so....Guess its off to Harrys in pennsburg then next weekend.

BTW, Ive seen your car around town :D

I have also wondered this as well. I take it that they will not, because the Evo rear calipers bolt on to 2g's, but not to 1g's. Anybody able to confirm this?

My reason for asking is because I need new calipers all around, and the junk yard has a special going this coming week for a set of rear calipers for $16...

Seeing as I need new calipers anuway, and I want to put dual piston ones on the front, should I also do dual pistons on the back with ceramic pads all around?

As far as I know you can't swap the rear calipers between a 1g & a 2g. They are different setups as the 1g's have the parking brake built into the caliper while the 2g's don't, they use a drum style parking brake built into the rear disk..

There are no dual piston calipers for the rear and as Daren said the 2G rears don't swap over easily. (Anything can be done with a big enough hammer and money)

1G's have the parking brake build into the rear caliper. 2G have what's called a drum in disk parking brake where there is a set of drum brake shoes in addition the the disk brake caliper in the rear and wouldn't easily move to a 1G.
