I cant fugure out if my car has a blown head gasket or if im being paranoid. heres what ive noticed:

Excessive amount of white exhaust when its moist outside (as in my car produces more steam out the back at idle than most other cars do moving); though no steam/smoke is noticed whatsoever when its warm and dry outside.

today i was fixing the blown heater hose, and i noticed a lot pf bubbles in the coolant when i took the radiator cap off.

Thats all i can think of right now. I dont think that there is anything to worry about, but damn im paranoid about this headgasket thing.:notgood:

When you turn off your car when its cool out, the exhaust pipe cools faster than the air inside causeing the moisture to condense inside the exhaust pipe. When you restart the car, the warm exhaust gas evaporates the pooled water causing the excessive water vapor in the exhaust for the first little while the car is running. If you constantly have large amounts of white smoke in the exhaust that is one prominent sign of popped HG. Other signs include oil in the coolant, coolant in the oil, heater suddenly going cool, obviously running out of coolant, low or no compression in one or more cylinders, and overheating.

To check for it, check for the symptoms. First thing I'd do is bust out the compression tester and see if one or more cylinders is 15% or more from the others. Next check the dipstick for cloudy or chocolate shake looking oil, then see if the coolant is tainted brown. Next I'd make sure the system is full and drive around with the heat on for like a week or so. If the system is still full and it passes the other tests within reason I' say you're good to go.
