Guys,

Frist thing first, my car is a 90 Laser RS 5spd Turbo FWD

Long story short... my car was not working because the fuel bump is failing... Now my car pull really strong!! At least I feel that way... And the problem is the guy who fixed my car said my car is a piece of junk but the engine... So I am thinking to swap the engine! Because I want my 1G till I am dead!!

Why I am thinking engine swap, frist other than my engine... others are just junk, rear axle is messed up bended as well, because I bumped into a pole... some guy claim that he can fix car messed up my wiring... so car won't start...

1st question, what need to be done to put this engine and transmition to a 93 Talon TSi AWD. Everything about it as detail as possible, because I am a 1G dummy who willing to learn more.

2nd question, will transmition need to be change? will ECU need to be change?

3rd is a request... anyone close in Topeka, KS area willing to help me out about the engine swap or at least take a look my car to give me Idea... I really want to see another 1G running strong in Kansas... They are fewer and fewer now. I will pay, not too much I am running short on money, Looking for those lover who want to get a little pay but more on saving another 1G car...

Doing a FWD to AWD swap isnt cheap. I say just junk your chassis and get a new FWD one, use your current drivetrain set up and swap it in to the new better FWD 1G chassis. Or just get a whole AWD car.

EDIT:
Or do you want to put the FWD engine and tranny is a AWD chassis?

Josh

Thanks Josh, that AWD has problem with the bottom end and it is a 7bolt... I kinda want to keep my 6bolt... i donno man... how much to get a FWD 1G chassis?

EDIT, I try to contact the seller if his is a 5spd or not, if it is a 5 spd then I think I will just drop the engine... but then what else need to be done?

Whoa lets used spell check. Just kidding I make mistakes too.

But if the fuel PUMP is failing just change it out for a Walbro. Keep the car and just keep working on it until it starts running correctly.

And what makes your car junk. I had so many ppl tell me to get rid of my dsm because DSM's are unreliable and they suck. If you like your car and its not a totally lost or junk, keep it.

Oh wait you want to do a FWD to AWD conversion. You better have money or know how to do the conversion by yourself. That is a true project. The average joe can't do it.

If you just want to engine swap your car to another dsm. Make sure its FWD as it would be easier. But if you want AWD, you best bet is sell your current car and get a AWD.

Is this a complete car that your wanting to swap everything too? As far as the engine and everything...
The 6 bolt you have will directly swap into the 93 shell. You will need a different tranny, as well as clutch and flywheel. There are differences in the AWD/FWD versions.
The 7bolts that come in 1g's are not terrible. They can reliably handle alot of power, but I guess if your leniant towards "crankwalk" then dont keep it.
The only thing that is really different from FWD to AWD is drivetrain. If everything comes with the car, and all you need to do is swap..then your golden.

my friend took one out from the junk yard... well... as i say my rear axle is bended... so it is not a totally lost or junk.. yet my front control arm need to be change soon... and my body interior is a mess... window tint and seat levels to adjust are missing... No stereo... no headliner... heater and AC not working...

Do you mean if that 93 Talon TSi AWD is a 5spd tranny... then I just have to drop the engine in and all my work will be done?

my clutch is new... like 500 mile on it... maybe I can parts it... and parts a turbo and intercooler LOL and a 7bolt engine and 6bolt tranny... then it should pay for my engine swap LOL

Guy... I am not trying to turn my car into race car... (maybe the next step)
I just feel like the car will be more reliable when it is in another new chassis....
because the rear axle, I am not too comfortable driving on Highway...

Engine sounds great... dude it is only 1147XX miles on it... like new man...
All i want to a complete 1G... not missing this and that...
I don expect too much!! Just want someone have the heart for 1G and keep one more 1G in state running happily on the road!

Well if you got the drivetrain in the 93 just pull the motor from your current car and put it in the 93, problem solved.

DSMs are getting so cheap now, just sell yours for whatever you can get out of it and buy an AWD one. Easier and cheaper at the end. Oh yeah, and better grammar always helps when people are trying to figure out what you are trying to say.
