hey i just got a vr4 galant and it's acting weird....i'm not 100% sure but i think it is the throw out bearing. when i first got the car the clutch was extreamly stiff and now it doesn't even feel like there is a clutch at all. i'm having a hard time shifting...was it's sitting now and im stuck driving a jeep. i'm just curious to see if it is actually what's wrong and if it is what kind of clutch kit should i get. so if you have anything to say feel free thx.

If the clutch was hard at first and now its soft, I'd check the master cylinder to see if there's fluid in it! If it has fluid, then I'd bleed the hydraulic system to rid of the all the air. If its still soft then, I would probably call it the pressure plate diaphragm fingers breaking off.

Does your car make any odd noises?

yeah it was almost making a grinding noise, but as soon as i took my foot off the gas it would stop. it sounded like it was coming from the front of the tranny. it would make a high pitch squeaking noise but i thought it was the turbo not engaging all the way becuase it would stop once it did. if i pump the clutch a few good times and slam it to the floor i can shift very softly sometimes..other than that it grinds the gears. ouch=(

And inspect the line too. Sometimes they form major bubbles when under pressure and that would significantly reduce the pressure in the master or slave cylinder.

the clutch fluid is filled to the the line i'll check the master/slave cylinders but i'm going to get a new clutch kit this weekend because the one that was on there had alot of miles so i'm thinking it was just the preasure plate...ez but time consuming job.
