apexi 2 1/2in turbo back how good is it

i was just wondering how much of a difference i'm going to notice from this. I'm buying it for $100 used and right now i have a 2 1/2 cat back greddy sp2. 97 gst spyder is what it's on

The Apexi exhaust system for GST's is actually close to 3 inches but not quite (more like 2.8"). Im not sure how much of a difference you should feel since you already had a 2 1/2 inch system. I know that coming from my stock POS system the Apexi was a night and day difference for me.

BTW, are you referring to a N1 system?

i don't know what series it is i just know he told me he doesn't think it's 3in and i could come pick it up for $100 and that's with the apexi down pipe included. Right now I just have the stock downpipe.

I think the N1 is not as small as 2.5", but not as big as 3". It's around 2.75" or so.

Is there any reason you want to ditch the Stainless SP2 system in favor of a mild steel APexi?

I hate the way it looks, the way it sounds and also the apexi i'm getting comes with a apexi down pipe

Well the whole Apexi system will be in a pile on your floor in a year or two, so make sure you hold onto that SP2.

It would be better, in my opinion, for you to find a nice stainless 2.5" downpipe to complement your current system. You'll also want to look into replacing your stock cat with a high-flow aftermarket cat or a test pipe depending on your local emission laws. Each of the above exhaust mods will change how your current exhaust system sounds.

Just so I can sound like I know something you'll start to see noticeable limitations of a 2.5" exhaust at about the 300hp mark.

I had an apex-i and changed it for a stainles steel 3 inch system. not much of a difference in my opinion. I would keep the one you have right now and just buy a stainless steel downpipe.
