alright so my car has a sputtering problem, but when I unplug the MAF sensor it stays running and doesnt sputter at all. This may sound stupid, but does that mean the MAF is bad?

Did you remove the return tube from te b.o.v. to the intake. And also check if there's air getting into the intake pipe.

car is tuned without the recirculating tube, and how would there not be any air going into the intake pipe.

Most likly the problem is that its not recirculated to the intake tube. I would recirculated back into the intake tube and that should fix your problem. If there was hole in the mas sensor.

the car has ran fine without it recirculated for the past 6 months. Why would it just start acting up now? and its tuned like that too

Interested in the outcome of this. I am going to be looking at a 1G that has similar symptoms

well the car used tp have a SAFC on it and previous owner took that off, does that mean anything to you?

the ecu could be going bad mine was doing the same thing, i swapeed out the maf and it did not change but after i changed the ecu it ran fine
