he car will crank over but will not start. It is getting fuel. We tried to replace the coil packs but that didn't work. So now we are thinking maybe the crank position sensor, but not positive. The car isn't getting spark to 2 plugs what could be the problem. I just got the car and really want to get it running... Thank you

wow, its almost exactly like the problem i had when i just got my car,u have all the same symptoms, except all my plugs got sparks. I really dont even know what was wrong with it, we just messed with the timing belt and re did all the timing. then it started. Was that what was wrong with it? idk. Just look at the thread i made bout a month ago, has a similar title like yours. good luck.

i had a 95 tsi that did the exact same thing. got spark to 2 plugs and not the others. took it apart found a broken crank position sensor, put a new one in and it started right up.

are the 2 plugs that arnt firing on the same coil? powers and grounds on that if thats the case
