Hello,
I am having problems acquiring the data from my ECU to my PALM
I am using the palm IIIc to log data on my 1990 TSI awd Turbo.

I just installed a MAFT and gm MAF without the rpm signal wire attached because I have a SAFC II.

The MMCD program is set to DSM and the 1920 baud rate.
I am not sure what the non-linear O2 option does.
While the car is running the Battery is 14.2 volts.

Right now I am not able to get any linear plots. The data will plot for one second and then flash off and come back. So its impossible to get a good reading. This even occurs while reading less then 3 outputs. Example O2 fuel trim, and O2 sensor, rpm. These are the signals I am most concerned about.

I was able to get good readings before that made good graphs, but that was in the summer. But at least I know what good data looked like.

So the problem is that the data will start to graph and then leave blank spots every second or so. This causes the graph to look all choppy, and cannot be used to make any fuel adustments. Even the Battery voltage cycles off for some time during a log, so I dont think that its my O2 sensor.

Once again, My logs worked fine before. And nothing has changed but the MAFT installation. Right now I am reseting my ECU and hopefully that will fix this. Its just a pain to work outside in the snow.

Any Ideas on what I need to fix? I really hope its just a software issue and not my ECU. Any help would be very helpful. I have searched this problem for a long time, and I cannot find anything in the forums. Thank You

What could cause this?

I think its either my data logger cable or my ecu. :beatentodeath:

I have a 1g 1990 awd tsi Turbo

The logger cable is passive and plugs right into the OBD 1 conection right to the pda.

Has anyone had a bad cable like this?

Any help?

HEY!! Just for completeness.
Problem solved. It was a bad logger cable. I must have steped on it to many times. I followed the schematics to make a new cable with the diode and 10k resistor and it works perfectly. Im logging agian YAYYYY!!!!!
