I bought a used safc2 from a friend and it had the common problem where the screen was blank even when the unit was getting power.. I started checking the connector inside to find it hadn't moved at all, so after further diagnosis i noticed one small diode not really straight the way it should be.. I repositioned it where it should be, hooked it back up and BINGO, screen powered up without any problems. So i got out a fine point low temperature soldering iron and soldered it back to the board and then double checked. Still works....:thumb::thumb::thumb: The arrow points to the side I had to solder. hope this may help someone else.

The problem i noticed with those diodes is they are soldered onto the surface of the circuit board not attached into the circuit board. and there are more than one

I looked at mine and that doesn't seem to be the problem. Maybe I will break out the multimeter and start to check things.

Thanks for the idea though. Got me thinking about this thing sitting in my closet

granted mine started to power up since i could see faint red lines through the display(cover apart). I'd just make sure that all of those diodes are touching the board. but you never know waht it really could be with your own.
