I recently purchased a 1990 Eagle Talon. Its not turbo, and has no transmission. It has an NT Engine, which Im going to use in my Turbo Eclipse [I have another thread talking about that] but the deal now is... What should I do to get this Talon up and Running? Right now it has no trans, and no engine. I heard something about a hybrid 2.4L engine... But I'm not sure how that works. I may look for a car un a junkyard to finish up the project, but when looking for an engine, shoudl I look for Turbo Cars? I want to put the Talon running some decent HP, at least like a Stock Turbo Car, or maybe a bit more. I have no idea where to start.

[By the way, its a Automatic Transmission]

I still have the GS-T... But as you may have noticed, I only bought this talon for its engine. Then, when I saw it personally, I liked it alot. Its in pretty decent shape. I figured once I got my GS-T running, I could fix this one as well. That way I'd have a GS-T and a TSi ;)

They'd both be AT, since I have a knee problem, but they should still be plenty fun to drive.

Well as you should know I also have an auto but I have the awd advantage... I say use the N/T as a project/race car and dd the gs-t. Do what you want but its just an idea. That way you have a decent daily driver (GS-T) and a nice consistant race car (TSi). Auto's are nice and consistant on the strip b/c theres really no way to miss a shift... Unless your car likes to fry tcu's and get stuck in limp mode LOL... then watch out. Have fun

Chris

Thats exactly what I'm planning on doing... The GS-T will be my daily drive, then the TSi will probably be just for the track... I want to set it up for some decent HP... Not ALOT, but a considerable amount ;)

I'm thinking of a big 16G maybe... BUt I gotta see how much work it really is... Maybe its best to get another turbo car for parts, and do a complete swap of almost every part.

Now where are you getting a TSI everything else you have posted the 90 Talon is a NT:confused:

Get one car running correct before you worry about the second.

Easy buddy... I'm not asking for you to fix the cars... I'm just planning ahead to see what I need and dont need.

The Talon has no engine or transmission... Its a project. The box says TSi, but the engine the previous owner had in it was a NT. I'm using that engine for my GS-T and was thinking of what things to get to get the Talon up and running as well, because I dont have anywhere to put a non-running car. So the sooner I get them both running, the better. If things don't look up, I'll have to junk-yard the car.
