Hey everyone.

Well I just purchased a 2g eclipse the other day and as soon as I get it home I lock the doors and go inside. Well I come out later to find out while trying to unlock the doors that the passengers door lock is pushed into the door handle, and as I was unlocking the car the drivers one came loose and is now pushed in slightly. So basically I cant lock my doors again. My question for one is how does this happen? But more importantly how do I fix this? I am asking without taking off the door pannel only cause I have limited amounts of time to fix it in and would like to know the procedure before I start for once.

I think that that is just a 2g thing, as for fixing it first of all you are going to have to take off the door pannel, its not that hard and doesnt take much time. Once you take it off your going to try to find the key hole and put it back into its spot. But you are deffinatly going to have to take off your door panel, it will be cake.
hope everything works out for you

Sorry I guess I worded that badly. Yes I am going to take the door pannels off, thats a given. I was just moreso wondering if there are any special clips or something to hold it in place.

I just want to know if I am going to have to remove the door handle itself, and the general process.

But yes, I am fully aware that I need to take the door pannel off haha.

To answer your question yes there is a clip holding it in place. Its sorta like a c-clip that keeps the lock in place, I'm sure it popped out and fell in the door like mine. When you find it bend it in so that it clips on tight, snap it into place and your good to go.
