Hey guys, i have had a 50 trim turbo for quite some time, i don't know the brand, but i'll have some pictures in a day or two

I bought my 1990 talon with the 50 trim on it, and the guy before me just slapped it on without supporting mods, so i took it off and put on the stock 14b because the 50trim didn't spool quick at all.

Is this enough supporting mods to make the 50 trim actually spool sufficiantly

Dejon tool intake pipe
2gmas
KN filter
S-AFC
550s
255 fuel pump
tubular exhaust manifold
O2 dump housing
3" catback exhaust
2.5 in upper intercooler pipe hard

Thanks, besides a FMIC what else would you suggest???

That all looks good but I would say and AFPR, so you don't overrun your fuel system, and some bigger injectors. I can Max out my 550's on my 16g at about 22-24 psi, a 50 trim can push alot more. But it all depends on what boost your want to run. If you stay under 20 psi you can use the 550's for the meantime until you get something bigger. Oh, and a datalogger and wideband o2 to know what is happening.

Yeah, the supporting mods are fine for running a low boost application.. An AFPR is a MUST. Bigger injectors is also a good suggestion but you should be ok until you decide to turn the boost up. After you decide to buy a FMIC to avoid heatsoak, I would stop messing around with an SAFC/Datalogger setup and buy DSMlink.

I say keep the 14B on until you get 650 injectors or DSMLINK/CHIP + larger injectors. The 14B will be more fun at lower boost levels than the 50trim at lower boost levels. The 50 trim will really come alive after 18-19psi which would be way over your 550's and probably close to the end of the 650's.

Like stated before, get some larger injectors. I'm running 750s on my e316g. This spring I'll be running a 50 trim as well. For starting out, I'll be running 750s, but go larger for E85.

But an aftermarket flywheel and clutch would never hurt. You got a boost controller? Any gauges?
Also, if you have a little extra, I would pick up some 272 cams. Also it wouldn't hurt to look into getting a 4bolt rear end.

Oh yeah, i forgot to say that I also have a SBR 3500 clutch
I only plan on running about 18 to 22 lb of boost, and i'm not the
greatest person in the world at fuel systems if you know what i mean,
I have been reading up of AFPR's and i can't seem to find one that is actually a
bolt up that doesn't have to be rigged together, any suggestions
I know the aeromotive one is top choice, but what else do i have to buy for it to fit???

Look at the mods in my profile and you will have a better idea on what you need to get the most out of your turbo. By the way I run 28psi with these mods on pump gas or race gas.

Hey thanks a lot man, that helps a lot, i think that i am going to make a loan and with that and my taxes, i am going to prob. mod my car a lot and make it as reliably fast as possibly for my funds thanks again.

No problem. That is with the stock block also. The next thing on my car is nitrous, then a built engine, then a bigger turbo.

I can't wait. I am gathering parts for the next turbo setup and I have nitrous on the way. If I get enough money back for taxes I am going to get a built engine with it.

yeah man, my dsm story is, my brother had a 91 tsi awd, i rode in it one time and fell in love,
and then i, being a retard jumped into my 1st dsm, it was a 1990 tsi awd, with a 50 trim.
The guy was on stock fuel system he was venting to atmosphere w/o a gm maf, no tuning device whatsoever. the body was all rusty when i bought it, bad pics. one of my lower control arms broke on the way home, so the first time i ever saw it, it was on a tow truck and home on jacks. i was sooooo mad as you can imagine. well, we got it on the road finally, and that's when my dsming started. i read up on turbos, fuelsystems, tuning, etc... well between my brother, dad, and I. we had it, i know it's hard to say, but reliable. well, i being a retard again, wrecked in september of 07, just body work and it was on the road. one of my buddies started parting out his 91 talon, so i hit him up on his shell, and now i am where i am now
I don't know how people can get fed up with these cars, because they are the funnest thing ever AWD turbo rapes man ttyl thanks for the help
