I've had my HKS Super Mega Flow air filter for almost 3 years now and it's never been cleaned before and it is filthy. I've tried looking all over the internet and on here and couldn't find an answer on how to clean it. I know for the K&N filters you use the a cleaner and water. But since the HKS SMF is made of a different material I'm sure there's a different way to clean it. Can somebody give me some advice?

If it were me I would try to use some soap and water. Dont scrub it just take a squirt bottle with some dawn dishwashing soap. Spray it liberally and let it sit for a minute then gently wash it from the inside out.If you can use the sparyer in your kitchen sink with warm water. Dont spray it from the outside because you are just going to push the dirt in further into the element. IT may work or not but if they say you need to just buy a new one you really dont have anything to lose from trying. Good luck and let me know if it works for you. Travis
