Ok, so i bought the car with a after market blow off valve and boost gauge.....im just wondering if there is some other way to reroute the the vac line. The guy has it T'd off right on the header....i was curious if its ok to T it somewhere else? And if so, where do you guys? ### it just looks so clustered and ugly where he has it.... Thanks!

Another choice would be to run it directly off the turbo but that requires a bit of fabrication. I can't seem to find the DIY thread even though I read it like 2 days ago.

The only problem is the pressure spike that exists even with a cpv/bov. It could be enough to ruin the boost gauge. It also won't account for the pressure drop through the intercooler and not read manifold/engine vacuum(only vacuum from the air filter and compressor).

If the fabrication you're referring to is tapping the compressor housing, it's hidden in the new Wiki stuff:

Tapping Compressor Housing - Dsmwiki

I'd recommend tapping into the FPR solenoid vac line as that previously posted link describes, though. If you tap into the compressor housing, you don't know anything about your vaccuum which can often point out issues with vaccuum leaks.

I think it would be useful, however, for folks to have a 2nd gauge at the compressor outlet - perhaps only temporarily - so that you could see both the IM boost/vaccuum as well as the turbo boost. Seeing how much boost you're losing in the charge pipes, IC, and TB might convince you to upgrade that stock UICP, SMIC, and 2g TB. And if you had boost leaks, I think it would stick out like a sore thumb assuming you knew what the normal pressure drop was without boost leaks.

If I had a bunch of money and a month of free time suddenly tossed in my lap, I'm sure I could find the need for a 10-gauge a-pillar gauge pod LOL. But I'm broke and busy as hell, so I'll leave those sorts of things to folks more fortunate with time and money.:D

Um, from your pic it looks like its T'ed from the intake manifold not the header.

And I installed mine just like the link crimsondragon posted.

As far as functionality, where it is tee'd at now is fine. If you want to clean it up a bit, run it under the throttle body, instead of over the top. I'd be more worried about that birds nest of a wiring job he had going on there... Clean that up and your bay will be looking much better.
