Pinpointing an oil leak

As you may already know if you have been reading my other posts, i have a small oil leak coming from *around* the oil pan. However, I was inspecting the pan, and there doesnt seem to be any oil on the pan itself. The oil is either dripping directly from the oil pan gasket onto the ground (without running down the pan itself), or the oil is coming from another place entirely. The last place the oil leaked from was the passenger side of the engine, about an arms length from the front of the car. I let the car idle for over 15 minutes, watching for any sort of leak, and none leaked out while the car was running. However, a few minutes after turning the car off, there was a small puddle, maybe 3 drops worth, towards the back of the passenger side of the engine.

The oil pan is still a possibility, but what else is along that side/back there to leak oil?

If you go to the auto parts store you can get some dye to put in the oil and you should be able to track that leak down in minutes using a blacklight. Just a thought.

Check the eye bolt located on the passenger side of your head. The copper washers may need to be replaced, I had a similar problem.
