i've searched the forums but i can't find anything really pertaining to my particular situation...so here goes!

i have a 420a motor w/ a t3/t4 and 8.8 pistons. 1k miles on it. basically i rewired my autometer oil pressure, pyro, boost and wideband gauges...and my oil pressure gauge is also telling me the pressure is abnormally high. the others are fine.

at a 1k idle it reads 60 psi and then as the car gets warmer it slowly goes back down to normal (20-25 psi) cruising it reads 60 and at WOT it'll hit 80-90. but i'm just wondering what would cause this...cause rewiring it shouldn't do this as it's not even related to the pressure reading and that's some crazy timing if something went wrong, which it shouldn't on a brand new motor...any ideas? :coy:

I does look a little high but 80 - 85 psi at WOT is not bad. Did you install a new oil pump? My first engine I built I did not port the releif valve and I had 85- 90 psi @ WOT. On my current engine I ported the releif and I have lower pressure of about 70 psi @ WOT.

when you first start out of course its going to be high as hell also depending on what weight you are using. once you warm up the car it goes down as you said. and at WOT on my car i would hit 70-80 and i used to use royal purple 15W-40 now i use GREDDY 5W-40 AND ITS BETTER BUT YEA SOUNDS KINDA OK

10psi of oil pressure per 1k RPM is the standard. If youre way off from that, I would say there is a problem. You seem to be ok.
