Hey all. Has anyone used those bse kits from ebay wuth any success or failure. The ones I see dont have an oil groove on the stub shaft so I was wondering if this would be an issue. the kit comes with a steel plug two bearings and the stub shaft for $20.00. Seems like a good deal. Thanks

Seems like a good deal. Hmph. Well, BSE kits normally only run $40, so are you going to chance the seemingly good deal on one of the most important components of your engine to save $20?

correct me if I'm wrong, but with the kit those bearings are suppused to be installed incorectly on purpose so the oil hole does not line up with the one on the block.
so there is no oil groove because it's designed that nothing is supposed to ride in those bearings.

You are referring to the Front Balance Shaft Bearing in the Block - He is talking about the "Mirage" Stubby Oil Pump Shaft for the Rear Balance Shaft delete & I went with the REAL Stub Shaft Kit for only a $20 difference.

I highly recommend him. I bought of all my rebuild parts from him and his service is 2nd to none and when I had a problem with oversized bearings, I took a pic, mailed them back and as soon as I had the tracking number too him he already had a new set out to me before he got the other one's back. I have installed at least 5 or 6 of those kits locally and they work great. Can't beat $15.95. Hell I could buy them in bulk and sell them on eBay at that price.

Doesn't look OEM, though. I know that core plug definitely isn't Well, cheers to a different solution, I suppose.

The core plug isn't but the shaft it. It fits in perfect just like it were a freeze plug.
