Hey, i am in the process of getting all my winter mods done, so far this is what i have

T3/T4-50-Trim full garret stage 3 wheel
dnp tubular manifold
Tial 38mm wastegate
FPR
PTE 680cc Injectors
ACT 2600 Clutch kit
ACT street lite flywheel
Maf-T Gen II
GM MAS
Hall man pro mbc
TurboBack exhasut
Logger
Boost gauge
FMIC kit
Dejopn Intake

and all the maintnace has been done to the car, and im relly wanting around 400 horse power, do u guys think with that setup i would be able to be close to my goal, alot of people are telling me to throw some 272 cam's in here would they make much a difference in my setup? Thanxs

Depends what you want to do with the car as far as goals. Oh wait, maybe your name hints at that

You need a fuel pump and I would upgrade the lines to at least -6AN.

You need something to tune for the bigger injectors.

272s would definately help. Again depends on your goals.

sorry i forgot to add that, i do have a 255 walbro fuel pump, and would the Maf-T GenII be enough to tune the injectors? and goals, really i just would like to tap on 11's door, and have around 400 horsepower or a lil more

No the maft will not be enough to tune your injectors. You have to have a safc or some other tuning device. 272s would complement your setup nice. As far as hp, all depends on your tune, pretty solid setup however. Did you get a afpr kit with the return lines? The line between the fuel filter and the fuel rail is very small. Look for 6an like absolute said.

No the maft will not be enough to tune your injectors. You have to have a safc or some other tuning device.

The SAFC is only recommended for 650cc or below. Unless you chip your ECU for larger injectors then use the SAFC to fine tune after that. By that time I would rather just have the capabilities of DSMlink.

yea i got the whole FPR Kit, and i was told that the Maf-t GenII would be able to tune my injectors, so u guys think i would just be better off to get a regular maf-t and a safc

If you plan on going with the 680's, an S-AFC will be a royal pain to tune with. It's pushing the limits of it though (which are 660cc or so), but is probably possible. I'd say go with DSMlink, especially considering the other mods you plan on running. If you go DSMlink, you won't have to purchase a logger since it's built in. Plus it will be capable of handling anything you want to use it for.

ok, thanxs for all the input so far guys so i still have a couple of questions, do u guys think i could get away with the Maf-tGenII for tunning the injectors for a couple of months while i save up and get dsm link, or should i just get a SAF-C also to help tune it. And with the cams the only problem i see with those are wouldnt i half to tune those on a dyno? or could i just throw those in there and tune it like the rest of the car? i ask this beacsue there isnt a dyno anywhere where i live. thanxs in advance

I'm pretty sure you just tune cams like you do the rest of the car. I believe cam gears most people tune on a dyno. Please correct me if im wrong as I have a set of cams on the way. I definitely think I would do like snowborder said instead of buying a safc then getting dsmlink....then you would have bought a safc for a couple months use.

most of this stuff i already bought, like the logger i already have, and the dsm link iw ould have to buy a labtop and everything to use it, and i would like to get that this summer sometime, some people say i need a saf-c, and some say the maf-t genII will tune it fine then some people say even the saf-c wont tune it, and the same as the cam thing one person says a total different thing than the next

ok guys i think you have convinced me, i think im going to go and save up a couple more weeks and go with dsmlink, now my question is do you think i should get the 272 cams even thogh i wont be able to dyno tune them, and what size injectors should i go with, i would like maybe 475+ horsepower

Since you're going with DSMlink, I'd recommend going with as large of injectors as you can. I'd say go with some 1150cc injectors. The 1600's are too hit or miss with tuning and most people just have a hard time with them in general when trying to dial them in right. Since DSMlink can handle anything you can throw at it, you don't want to short yourself and then have to buy bigger ones later.

yea, i am definately gonna go wiht bigger injectors, and im still going to use the maf-t but just 0 it out and just have it for the GM MAS, and do u guys think i should just get the cams also since im doing all this, even though i wont be able to dyno tune them, will they still give me good gains without a dynoe tune? and does anyone now where i can get a laptop for cheap LOL

I believe the only reason you'd need some dyno time after installing cams is if you also installed adjustable cam gears. This way you can dial in the cam gears properly. But if you're just installing cams, I don't think you'd need to use a dyno. And I can't say I've ever heard of 'tuning' cams.

Here's a thread about cam break-in:
