I was reading the Fuel injector FAQ at:

http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/fre...47-fuel-injector-questions.html#post151354729

I plan on going EEPROM ECU and I am running a BIG 16g with the mods in my signature including an AFPR and a 255 pump.

I notice that the Big 16g guys on here that run the best trap speeds on pump run 660s.

I know that this is only ONE piece of the ingredient, but I couldn't help but notice.

The FAQ indicates that you should run 660s if you are running an EEPROM ECU but I am not sure why.

The reason I am so fussy is because I plan on buying my injectors used and I can tell you that I can get used 550s substantially cheaper than 660s.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

you can easily max out the performance of the 550s, its def better to go bigger. this way if you decide to add a few small things along the way the 550s arent maxed out already

A big16g will max out those 550's real fast, especially at high boost, and if you go ahead and get the 660's now it will save you an upgrade later when you realize that high boost puts your IDC well past 80% on 550's.

Not sure why you thought you needed to start two threads about virtually the same topic. :|

You asked the question, now I will answer it. If you don't like the answer, then don't ask these types of questions.

As a reminder, I don't see how your response is a technical one to my question.

"Virtually" is not the same as "exactly" is it?

I don't know why you need to post to both of my threads with redundant comments and assertions that I don't want to upgrade my system. If that was the case, the thread wouldn't have this title would it?

I don't recall 550's or 660's being factory equipment on a 1g DSM?

Are you a moderator? If not, then why try to moderate?

People like you tend to deduct from the original nature of posts.

If that is the way it goes around here, I would rather not be here.

The 660cc have been proven and on top of that you have that insurance that you will not max out like if you was on the 550cc. and a bit of room to play with.

Thanks everyone.

I don't want to argue here. I REALLY just don't.

I like how I have been treated here and want to keep posting and contributing.

This is not my first DSM, but times and technologies have changed since I had my last one.

The above advice is correct: to get the best performace from a big 16G, you'll need at least 650/660cc injectors. 660 is close enough to 650 so that you may get away with controlling fuel with with an SAFCII, but consensus is, with injectors bigger than 650's, the piggyback devices are extrapolating too far and become inaccurate.
