6 bolt rebuild help new rings.. HELP PLEASE

Alright well im about to do a rebuild on my 6 bolt i did a compression test and these are the results
100-130-127-125dry
190-192-194-188wet
the way i see it, its bad rings so i was planning on ripping the block apart in the car and just buying new rings for the old pistons, and replacing the rod bearings while there out? is this a good idea or should i just leave the bearings? and is it ok to just replace the rings on the stock 1g pistons, i also have a old 7 bolt that got crankwalk so i could possibly have 2g pistons to swap for the 1g pistons? what do you think?

The 2g pistons in 1g rods will need some machine work and you'll need need new bearing. if you luch then all you need it ring you might need to have the block oversized. and while apart I would have the head gone through buy a machine shop too

I blew two head gaskets on a 260hp engine before I got arp studs and MLS gasket.

I have 2g pistons and would only recommend them if:
1- you have good logging capability
2- you have fuel control
3- timing control or extra detonation control ie front mount, water inject.

with out 1 and 2 you may regret the swap. My 2g pistons forced me to purchase link before I really needed it.

As far as the build goes. If you've got a second car and don't mind pulling your engine any time you need to, you can really get away with what ever works for the moment. But if this is a major project for you, I'd hate to see someone spending a week end, a hole week, some people even a few months working on their car; just to half ass it..?

In the past two years I've :

pulled my head (head gasket)
pulled everything (full rebuild)
pulled everything again (engine swap to awd)
And now im starting a tranny rebuild.

Some times the cash will make your mind for you

I want you to have this " . " It took me a second, but I get it now... If I were you, I'd just go with stock Mitsubishi replacement rings.

so i wont be able to swap to 2g pistons and b ok running it as a daily driver until i can afford a logger and fuel control. i sold the afc a few months ago and im saving for a dsmlink as im now running stock boost levels and stock injectors. i have a front mount and i THOUGHT i could just run a colder plug and retard timing a slight amount? will that not work?

I dont know for sure. I had my eye on link at that time as it was, so I convinced my self to get it asap.

What your suggesting could cut it. Its going to come down to your boost level goals.

well head came off today and timing jumped took out 1 and 4 pistons and of course probably did a number on the head, but becasue of the wet test im guessing it needed rings anyway. i thought about the 2g pistons but i figured it wasnt worth the try if it could mean detonation, I located 4 1g pistons with rods and a 1g and 2g head if i can find a machine shop to drill the 2g head bolt holes to 12mm.
