i have a 1995 talon tsi awd and i was thinking about getting the ACT 2600 clutch or the ACT 2900 clutch what one would you go with?

thats the one i was thinking about going with i know the stock blutch couldnt hold up to the launch and i also have a 20g so theres a bit of a power difrence compared to the stock turbo

Depends on you power needs... Most people don't need a 2900. I have been fairly happy with my "South bend" clutch and its rated about the same as a 2600. So I would probably go with that, as it seems to be more then enough for me.

You need to match a pressure plate to the torque youre engine is producing and whether you mind a stiffer plate on the streets. A 2600 for example can handle 400 ft lbs.

I just looked at your profile and you have a 20G, you may have some big plans, if your planning on crazy launches, and a ton of track time, you may want the 2900. Just work your leg out first...

well right now i dont have much done just tubular manifold 20g turbo 3in turbo back exhaust, and intake but am going to buy fmic fly wheel and clutch within the next month, but i hope to build another block that i can but in the car

I would go with a 2600 PP and a ceramic disc of some sort. Kevlar and organic discs like the act street discs dont take much abuse. Im running a 4 puck sprung ceramic disc and so far its working out great. Will take tons of abuse and wont over heat like a street disc.

i just put a 2900 on my buddies 92 i like it alot? imo since the car is awd it is much more stress you are putting on your clutch since you will have MUCH less wheelspin. So go bigger have something that is going to handle just about anything u are going to throw at it unless you have monster plans then go with a twin disc setup

Actually the larger clutch is harsher on drivetrain parts. The shock of the clutch is harsh.

I am running an ACT 2600 & Fidanza flywheel, & I was surprised after the first time driving that setup, that the pedal wasn`t really that heavy. It is heavier than stock of course, but not as much as I anticipated. It really hooks up well & is very smooth too . . . :talon:
