cant get into gears when starting the car. thinking it has to do with friction plate or hydraulic system. the clutch pedal is extremely loose and feels like a cable snapped.
just asking 4 a little help from people who can give me an idea of what the problem may be.

Did you just replace the clutch? Or did this happen out of the blue?

If it happened out of the blue one day then I would check the cables.

If this is a new clutch just installed:

Bleed the system.

How does your slave and master cylinder look?
Slave cylinder may need to be replaced.
Master cylider may need to be adjusted.

If all else fails you may need to add a washer to the ball that the clutch rod pivots on. If you go this rought replacing the clutch rod may be a good idea too along with a new slave cylinder.

goodluck,
Allan

see i bought the car used from my cousin and i dont know if im running on a stock clutch.
i dont even know if its new. the bad part is...i cant jack up the car because its stuck on a slanted driveway with a vehicle behind it.so i cant even locate and see what the slave and clutch cylinder look like.

Good point. The stock clutch line is the same as steel brake line, and if anything falls on it or dents it, it wouldn't be too hard for a leak to appear. Seals can leak over time as well. Refill the fluid, and attempt to bleed the clutch. Look for leaks at the slave, the master, and the entire line (runs along the bottom of the firewall).

you either have to have a leak in the line or the clutch was replaced right before you got the car? my 96 talon awdi got for 1800 bucks the guy, or idiot, had a motor built for the car dropped the motor in and noticed the clutch pedal went straight to the floor, so he thought hum must need a new clutch he put another clutch in the drove it up the road did the same thing. He thought he blew another clutch so he got discouraged and let the car sit for two years LOL then sold a car that he paid 8000 for and another 4 grand for a motor plus all that clutch work for 1800 LOL! Oh well only thing i had to do is put some fluid in it and bleed the line! I suggest you bleed the system....its easier to do with two people

I have same problem in my 2g DSM ( fwd ) but its happend after changed the clutch disc ( New OEM ).

I checked the hydraulic and every thing is OK. This is the first time for me working on DSM so maybe I have mistake in assembly. Can anybody help me ?
