ok this may sound like a ricer ? but trust me im not i have a 99 eclipse gs and im wanting to buy a turbo kit for it. i just want to know wut i would have to do to have my engine right for a turbo? thanx for the help

Yup, heres a kit I'm not saying to buy this kit, you should research these kits before you buy one because some of them are crap.

eBay Motors: 420A TALON ECLIPSE DSM T3 CAST TURBO KIT w/ piping (item 120197639302 end time Dec-19-07 15:58:46 PST)

After that you'll need a bigger exhaust system, fuel pump, injectors, fmu, safc or something similar and don't forget a wideband boost gauge and egt gauge. Youre gonna have to spend quite a bit. Getting a turboed eclipse is much easier and maybe even cheaper, but if you still want to turbocharge a 420a go ahead, I heard its very reliable. Atleast you'll never have to worry about crankwalk.

Thats not a "ricer" question at all. Youre looking to improve the performance out of your engine.

I would jump over to the 420a forum and do some searching around. I can tell you now that you should do a compression and leakdown test to check the condition of your engine, then just over to Hahns for a turbo kit if everything checks out.

yea i just read that and i was planning on doing a compression test this weekend to see where my engine is at but thanx i will go and search the forums

well im pretty much set is there anything else i should know about b4 going through with this? p.s. thank u all for ## input

also makes a very good kit. I would stay away from the ebay kits. One thing you NEED to watch and do right is your fuel system. If you mess that up, kiss your engine goodbye. I ran 10 psi all day long on my completely stock 420A with 170,000 miles on it. It's torn down for a full build this winter now.

yea i was looking at the hahns racecraft kits and i might go with them. and u have to rebuild ## engine cause u had a fuel problem?

o ok i got ya im going to get my engine compression tested to see what it is and then if it ok im going to start buying all the parts i need for it including a new headgasket and what not so it looks like i got a pretty busy year or 2 ahead of me LOL

just another quick question which exhaust system would be the best for my car im thinking about the apexi n1 but i was also thinking about greddy so what do y'all think?

I did the Hahn 420 Kit about 7 months ago on a 99 GS. This kit is designed from years of reasearch by Hahn. Very solid kit.

The oil pan return line hole is easily done w/ a stepper bit & WD40. Make sure you tap it exactly where Hahn specifys (so it lines up well). Also make sure to apply RTV when you tighten down the AN -10 bung connector to the oil pan so this customized port is the least of your worries...

I have a Hahn 420A turbo manifold and your choice of a Super 16G or a Super 20G in my possession. The manifold is like new, and both turbos are freshly rebuilt. I was going to be listing the stuff in the classified section shortly- but you can PM me if you're interested. Everything will perform as good as a new setup from Hahn at a fraction of the price.

Hey guys so I'm new to the eclipse game so I have a 95 eclipse gs and when I got it insured the card came back saying it's turbocharged an I know for sure it's not but the motor is the dohc 2.0 do they come stock with turbos... here are some mods that I I know that are already done to it domed pistons an a upgraded crankshaft or camshaft... but I wanna what kinda turbo will be a good one for me to put on?

Do a google search of your vin number. This will tell you if it is actually a gst or x. Or if its an rs/gs. If its an rs/gs contact your insurance because it is probably more expensive to insure than it should be if they have it down as turbo. The 420a non-turbo is still dohc. They never came turbo, but you can turbocharge it. Depending on how crazy you want the car will determine the best turbo for you. A big 16g is a good all rounder.

Open the hood and look. Is there a turbo or not?
