victoria,
Hi DSMers, Ok its time to swap the engine in my 95 TSI AWD. I was thinking to put in the EVO 9 or 8 4G63T engine with 6spd tranmation. So does the 4G63T engine from EVO 9 or 8 fits 2G DSM? did anybody did this kind of swap? and is it EVO 9 or 8 better than the 6 bolt 4G63T engine? also can I put a 6spd transmation on a 6 bolt 4G63T engine.

Thanks

Those engines are completely backwards from ours. Unless you are very skilled in fabrication and very rich you should stick with the 6 bolt 4g63t that came in the early dsms or just buy an evo 9.

Yeah the guy above me is right, their a whole nother animal. It would take some serious fabrication to pull it off. But think about this, I've never seen an evo 4g63 in a 1g or 2g so that would be pretty badass and really unique. So if you go with it make sure to post lots of pics, cause your car would pretty much be instantly be badass.

The EVO 8 and 9's 4g63 is much more revised than the evo's of the passed. They are flipped 180 degrees the other way (Evo 4 and up) plus some other odds and ends that I dont know, the closest EVO motor to a dsm 4g63 would be the Evo 3 (1995) and one guy did a write-up on it here he swapped into a 2g I believe. Your best bet to me would get the JDM swap swap your head and electronics over and if your lucky to actually get a TRUE EVO motor and not one of those shitty minivan motors with the tiny turbo and smaller injectors, swap the turbos and injectors and go from there.
